Helen Cecil
Helen CECIL (died age 79) born in Scotland in 1931 immigrated to Canada in her late 20's with little more than a few dollars and her Highlander stoicism, humor and sturdy practical sense. She met Douglas Cecil, an East Indian, in route on the SS Ivernia and subsequently they married. They lived in Toronto, Canada for years and then moved to the Seattle area and settled in Renton. She is survived by her husband and three children Perlita Mastel, Karlene Arguinchona, and Alastair Cecil, and her three grandchildren, Olivia Arguinchona, Joseph Arguinchona and Paige Cecil. A quiet and private person by nature, she loved music, was an avid reader, wonderful cook and broad-minded thinker. After her diagnosis of brain cancer, she and her husband moved to Spokane to be care for by her family there. A memorial service will be held at Manito Presbyterian Church, June 13th at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Issaquah Library, Gene Coulon Park or your local Hospice program.
